"A Gap in Culturing Fungi to Yield Biosynthetic Products"
Mar. 2022
Fungi exhibit biosynthetic pathways that yield novel secondary metabolites that are relevant in the field of biotechnology. Though applications are wide and varied, researchers are faced with challenges in culturing and cultivating a broad range of fungi, with 75% of species estimated to be unculturable using current methods.
